Alternate endings

Under the direction of Assistant Professor Ang Li, and in concert with the Northeastern University’s School of Architecture’s Master Research Studio, Alternate Endings: A User’s Manual for Unbuilding explores the ideas of preservation and adaptive reuse through the lens of “unbuilding.” By analyzing the cultural, economic, and environmental impacts of demolition, raising the question of how architects could engage with the process beyond a building’s completion, the publication ends with a chapter outlining ten alternate endings, corresponding to the thesis projects for the studio.
