Architect with a Passion for Historic Preservation, Research, & Equitable Design

Sometimes finding the best way forward involves looking to the past.

I am excited about preserving the architecture of the yesterday while utilizing research-based design to create more equitable and sustainable spaces for tomorrow.

With several years of practical experience, I seek to pursue opportunities to continue evolving my perspective through work with an innovative, passionate, and collaborative teams.

By learning to engage with history through the analytical lens of architecture, I push to design with a rooted understanding of the past shaping my work—this approach being supported through my research-based design education, minor in Urban Studies, and semester spent researching the housing typologies of Berlin. Seeking opportunities to complement my developing interests by working with architectural historians and researchers in Graduate school, or relevant research. I’ve developed a strong understanding of the power of the built environment: how it has been used throughout history and how it can be used now and in the future to better create spaces inviting to all—regardless of background.

My professional experience has involved working for firms with historical preservation, adaptive reuse, and renovations as integral parts of the practice. I have encountered a variety of approaches, including exterior renovations of historically landmarked buildings, adaptive reuse of disused industrial buildings, and interior renovations with an eye to honoring the past.

In my free time, I pursue a variety of interests including photography, sketching, and traveling. Recently, I returned to playing the cello, as I did throughout high school and college, with the hopes of joining a community orchestra soon, along with finding other ways to get involved in my local community.
